Hong Kong–Zhuhai–Macau Bridge (HZMB), the world's longest cross-sea bridge, is a 55-kilometre (34 mi) bridge–tunnel system consisting of a series of three cable-stayed bridges, an undersea tunnel, and four artificial islands. HZMB starts from the Hong Kong port artificial island near the Hong Kong international airport in the east and connects Zhuhai and Macao artificial islands in the west across the waters at Lingdingyang. HZMB spans the Lingding and Jiuzhou channels, connecting Hong KongMacau, and Zhuhai—three major cities on the Pearl River Delta. HZMB was designed to last for 120 years and cost 127 billion yuan (US$18.8 billion) to build.
